Admission
At Neworld Medical Detox, we believe that clients needing treatment should be able to access such help quickly. We know that motivation waxes and wanes, and you want to strike while the iron is hot.
We know how you or your loved one might be suffering from unpleasant symptoms right now or will be imminently.
The process of admission to our facility is smooth and swift. Once a pre-admission assessment is done over the phone, the Clinical Director will decide on your admission date and approximate period of stay. Admission is by appointment.
We will do our best to accept you at our premises on the same day after the pre-admission assessment while availability permits. Please be punctual regarding your given admission appointment. We do not guarantee another date or time if you do not show up at your given appointment.
Admission pre-requisites:
- Motivated to start addiction treatment. We cannot keep a client against their will.
- Complete the pre-admission in-take assessment done over the phone.
What to bring with you upon admission:
Most important is to bring a positive attitude…
- Provincial health card and ID
- Drug benefit plan card if any
- Names and contact details for key contacts
- Sleepwear and slippers
- Your personal pillow from home if you wish
- Suitable seasonal clothing
- Prescription medication (if any). Medication will be revised by our medical doctor.
- Toiletries not containing alcohol (shaving cream, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.)
- Your preferred reading material if any.
- Your preferred music downloaded on a device that has no access to the internet.
- Preferred pictures of family or friend.
- Cash for incidental expenses.
All items will be revised by our security team.

Clothing suggesting drug use or racism
Expensive jewelry, sunglasses or watches
Camera
Weapons (including pocket knives)
Paraphernalia (drugs and/or alcohol)
Toiletries containing alcohol
Pornography
We ask that you keep your pets at home, with the exception of service animals. All service animals MUST have their certified vests and/or documentation present.
At Neworld, we believe that your safety and the safety of others is of utmost importance. Facility is monitored by cameras 24/7. Thank you for your understanding.

My name is Bryan and I stayed at New World the first week of October 2019. This place is amazing. The people that work there are some of the kindest and compassionate people I have ever met in my life. You can talk openly and honestly with them with no fear of judgment and the counseling sessions are not on a timer so no worries about looking at the 60 minute clock they have in other places. The owners are caring and accommodating. I recommend this place highly without hesitation and I have been to several places in the past two years in my own struggle with addiction. There is absolutely NO words to describe the care I got while @ Neworld. Every single staff member have been truly AMAZING. Without coming to Neworld my time on this earth would have been very limited. I honestly have my happy back and there are not enough words or time to express my gratitude. I love all of you.

It was a great experience for me. All the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. It was so great to be in a safe environment with people who truly care about your well being. Comfortable like home living space that you are able to roam around as you feel comfortable. Food was great and guests are also great. I enjoyed my time here but hope to not return !

My stay was easier and smoother than I could ever have imagined. Every single staff member were very kind, caring and supportive. I felt pampered and safe and taken care of every minute I was here from people I truly believe care. As crazy as it sounds I enjoyed my stay. It was hard but they make it so much easier, give hope and support and I really highly recommend Neworld. I wish I could help with a suggestion but all my expectations were greatly exceeded. I am so grateful and thankful to have had this opportunity for help. The food was great. So much love to everyone that has helped me.

I found Neworld to be very beneficial in my recovery. The Dr and staff were kind and made my stay and recovery as comfortable as possible. I experienced excellent counseling and amazing honest care from the nurses. My withdrawal symptoms were handled carefully without over medicating as the choices were mine. Deciding to come to Neworld for alcohol detox has been the smartest and safest decision that I could have made. The doctor and highly qualified professional staff have made my stay comfortable.
