Call us if you think you are abusing any of the above or other chemicals…
Fentanyl is a synthetic narcotic drug that's an opioid pain reliever and is 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine. Medically it is indicated for the relief of severe pain. Like all opioids fentanyl works by blocking pain receptors in the brain and increasing production of chemicals that make us feel better such as dopamine and other endorphins. Unfortunately it has been an increasingly common cause of opioid and narcotic addiction and this problem is escalating dramatically. Over the past five year period deaths from fentanyl alone have nearly doubled. Fentanyl is most commonly prescribed as a patch. Street names include China girl, China White, TNT and crush.
At NEWORLD Medical Detox we know this is a very serious problem and a very difficult addiction to overcome. We detox this addiction using the most up-to-date protocols to help our clients overcome the side effects and symptoms of fentanyl withdrawal, while at the same time giving a safer more effective medication to help slowly bring down the narcotic dosage. Most clients effectively detoxify from fentanyl addiction over the course of the week stay at our Centre.
Percocet, Oxycontin, Oxys
OxyContin is another synthetic pain reliever that was first introduced in 1995 and really sparked the huge increase in narcotic prescribing and opioid addiction. It was first used in the United States and came up to Canada shortly after introduction and has been prescribed multiple times by physicians to their patients to manage severe pain. Unfortunately, it is a very commonly abused narcotic pain reliever. Thousands of people have gotten hooked on OxyContin since it was first introduced. OxyContin is often combined with other drugs and can be injected, smoked or swallowed as a pill.
This is probably the most common opioid addiction we treat at NEWORLD Medical Detox. We have a very specific program for Oxy’s addiction. Once again, we make sure that we have our clients in a safe medically supervised environment; we then introduce medications that will safely detoxify the opioid together with other meds to control the common withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea, shaking and chills. This is done over the course of a few days. By almost one week almost all clients are completely narcotic free and are safely off the drugs of abuse, are clear minded and able to decide their next steps to tackle their addiction problems.
Heroin is another highly addictive synthetic drug made from poppy plants. It was first used by physicians to help patients overcome morphine addiction, but doctors soon realized that heroin addiction is a much worse problem. On the street, heroin comes in a variety of forms. It's usually a whitish or brownish powder that's cut with other things like starch or powdered milk. It is also sold as black tar and can be smoked or injected or taken in a variety of forms. Like so many other opioids, heroin related overdoses are on the rise, and these deaths usually result from combining heroin with other drugs such as Benzodiazepines, alcohol or cocaine. Unfortunately, now a lot of heroin is cut with fentanyl and this too causes disastrous effects and sudden death.
At NEWORLD Medical Detox we take this very seriously and we have an efficient and effective medical detox protocol for heroin addiction. We ensure that clients are closely medically supervised throughout the whole process and we guide clients through the detox process step by step, using safe and effective medications to slowly bring them down from your addiction. We make sure clients get off the heroin very safely with very few withdrawal side effects. Most clients do very well and within 5 to 7 days are off all their opioids and ready to start down the road to complete recovery.
Cocaine is a powerful addictive stimulant made from the leaves of coca plants and usually imported from South America. It's an illegal street drug and is usually consumed and sold as powder and often mixed with other drugs and is now sometimes cut with fentanyl to make a very deadly combination. It’s sometimes turned into rock form, and smoked as crack cocaine bringing a very fast and dangerous high. Popular street names include blow, coke, crack, rock and snow. It's very addictive and very dangerous.
At NEWORLD Medical Detox, we professionally detoxify clients from cocaine or crack by bringing them down from the high that cocaine gives and administering medications that slowly and safely provide a “soft landing”, with few side effects and a very safe withdrawal experience. We know that crack cocaine often occurs with other addictions and we make sure that we account for all other drugs that the client might be using and combine detox methods to make sure all withdrawals and side effects are taken care of.
Benzodiazepines, Xanax, clonazepam, temazepam, lorazepam and other sedatives
Sedative drugs can be used alone, but are most commonly combined with other drugs of abuse such as opioids or cocaine to make synthetic drug cocktails that are highly addictive. Coming off these drugs involves a special detox protocol to safely and effectively help clients get back to their own sleep rhythms and overcome all the jitters and side effects that withdrawal can bring. We at NEWORLD Medical Detox implement the best detox protocols for benzodiazepines to make sure that the body can adapt and function normally, drug free.
Alcohol abuse by itself or in combination with other drugs is a very serious problem. Alcohol can have very severe effects on the liver, the stomach, the blood cells, and when combined with other opioids or stimulants can create a very dangerous cocktail. The fact that alcohol is easy to get, legal and not expensive makes it a very dangerous drug. Alcohol withdrawal is a dangerous experience if not done under a professional medical detox.
At NEWORLD Medical Detox we use our experience to provide the safest and most effective treatment protocols to help clients get alcohol out of the body and slowly bring them down safely. The most common side effect of alcohol withdrawal is seizures and delirium tremens, where people can experience hallucinations and have serious heart and other side effects. We use special medications and closely monitor all our clients to ensure that none of these serious effects occur while under our care facility and we don't discharge clients until they are medically safe and alcohol and other drugs are out of body system. We are experts in this field and will ensure a safe withdrawal.
All detox programs are tailored and personalized to our clients condition taking into consideration the medical and psychological status that might be occurring with the addiction. Our medication protocols are approved and constantly reviewed for effectiveness.
